Horsemanship is defined as the Habits and Skills that Horses and Humans need to have a successful partnership and relationship.

Horse Development is about the Human possessing Ambition, Patience, Principles and Sequence of Development.

At Pear Tree Ranch we specialize in Foundation Training for horses and humans. By combining the study of Horsemanship (getting along with horses) and Horse Development (the “training” of the horse), we offer a unique experience of learning led by Jake Biernbaum.

Jake has dedicated himself to developing as many horses as he can into super partners. Through his study of Horse Development, he has been constantly increasing his awareness, understanding and ability to get things done again and again with many different types of horse. He has also strived for a deep understanding of Sequence, when it comes to the Development of a horse. By bringing this focus of Horse Development to teaching Horsemanship, Jake and his team will help you put Principles to Purpose while having a great time with your horse.

Whether you want to master being safe, having fun, being handy or you want to Master the skills needed for the Fundamentals of Performance, We will help you get there! Each day will include Theory Sessions to increase your Awareness and Understanding, as well as Demo’s to help you not only hear it, but see it. We will use Simulations to help you Feel it before playing with your horse. Then we will have sessions for you to get out there and work towards your goals that you set for you and your horse! The Clinics are about you being able to come where you can get the Education and Inspiration, while showing your Dedication and exuding a little Perspiration. We will be learning how to use Ground Work and Riding to have a complete foundation. 


Liberty-Connect to the mind to encourage the feet. Build a strong connection with your equine partner! We will dive into how to get your horse to take responsibility to stay connect and allow you to guide them through different movements and obstacles. 

Obstacles- Build your horses confidence and give them and you something to do!! Obstacles are a great way to test your horses confidence and yielding while building patterns and giving them a purpose. We will have a large variety of obstacles for you to try and play with. 

Problem Solving- Biting, Kicking, rearing, bucking, won’t trailer load, won’t standstill, and the list of “Problems” people have with horses go on. What about, “My horse doesn’t Piaffe yet”, or “I cant change leads every stride.” That could be a “Problem” if you want to do those things. Whatever your “Problem,” bring it and we will work on it!

Stalls $25 a day (shavings, fans included)

Onsite lease horse $100 a day(limited)
